He will also be performing at the URBAN COUNTRY festival in MAY this year along with his artist stable-mate Caroline Taylor-Knight. The Touchwood camp is currently gearing up for a big year of Shows and Tours throughout 2008 being supported by Single releases to Country Radio through NFS and Video releases on the Country Music Channel. Dane's first clip for his first single "NOTHING TO LOSE" is scheduled to air on CMC the first week in MARCH.

2007 is shaping up to be a big year for Dane.
Firstly the big news is Dane has been signed to Independent Label, TOUCHWOOD PRODUCTIONS.

The Album has taken on a new level of quality and production value that will certainly make it compete on both the National and International stages, thanks to the collaboration of award winning producer Duncan Wood.

The first single Nothing To Lose has been well received by Radio all over the country thanks to it's inclusion on the NFS compilation CD which is distributed to over 400 Radio Station Australia Wide.
Dane's first video clip, produced by Touchwood Productions, will be aired on CMC as soon as editing is complete which is scheduled to coincide with the album launch in late March 2007.

The Touchwood Productions band is in rehearsal mode preparing for the joint live shows of both Touchwood Artists, Dane Sharp and Caroline Taylor-Knight.

Bio

Dane Sharp

Dane Sharp

A former professional soccer player, Dane Sharp’s knee was shattered along with his dreams. However, in a life changing moment, a friend gave him an old guitar for comfort and he was soon busking and playing backyard parties.

From there it was a natural progression to open mic nights, restaurants then bars and touring trips out west, also playing in a duo “Country Bound” honing his Country rhythms.

In January 2006, Dane played a series of shows in Nashville and worked with some of country music’s leading songwriters and musicians, such as Luann Reid (Kenny Chesney) and Brett Manning (Keith Urban).

Signing to independent label Touchwood Productions in 2007, Dane released his debut album Nothing to Lose in February 2008. Produced by award-winning producer Duncan Wood, Nothing to Lose is available to order in all good music stores across Australia and to download via iTunes.

2008 was a big year for Dane. Along with releasing his debut album, his first two video clips (Nothing to Lose and Alone in the RSL) were released on CMC (with a new clip for Blue Skies coming soon). Dane has been featured in Capital News and the Tamborine Times and was nominated for a Gold Medallion Award, as well as a TSA New Songwriter of the Year Award with co-writer Charles Daoud.

A gifted singer/songwriter, Dane has performed at the Songwriters’ Café, the Next Generation Station Stage and Town Square Stage at the Urban Country Music Festival in Caboolture, Queensland Music Festival’s Lift Every Voice and started off 2009 with three performances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival (Buttercup Stage, Coca-Cola Stage and TREC Outdoor Stage) – just to name a few. Dane and label-mate Caroline Taylor-Knight are currently in rehearsals with the Touchwood band for upcoming shows and tours and a live DVD they’ll be shooting in the coming months. The sky is the limit for this exciting new talent.

CAPITAL NEWS

DANE SHARP always dreamed of performing on a world stage; only his Holy Grail was on Wembley Stadium playing soccer (OK, 'football' to you mad fanatics). A career-ending knee injury has forced a change of venue. Dane's eyes are now on the The Grand Ol' Opry stage. He has just released his debut CD Nothing To Lose. Dane has written,or co-written all but one of the tracks. His songs deal with new challenges and the courage to face them. The title track, and first single Nothing To Lose is a song about never looking back. The Great Australian Way is an upbeat track reminding us that what we are seeking may just be what we already have. Dane pays homage to his wife Jacqui with the sweet My Best Friend. Alone in the RSL honours our Diggers. With well crafted songs and honest delivery, Dane Sharp is a name to remember.
